Bran Nu Dae to be distributed by Roadshow





BRAN NU DAE, an energetic, star-studded musical road trip about finding where you belong.

Roadshow Films today announced the acquisition of Australian and New Zealand rights of BRAN NUE DAE. Roadshow Films will jointly release the film with Omnilab Media.

Managing Director Joel Pearlman said "BRAN NUE DAE is an exceptional feature and we are thrilled to have been appointed as the local distributor of this project in conjunction with Omnilab Media. Rachel Perkins has crafted an extraordinary feature she is an exceptional director and has delivered a film that does justice to the original source material which was first performed as a stage
play. We are excited to be working again with Robyn Kershaw on her second feature following the enormous success of LOOKING FOR ALIBRANDI which was also released by Roadshow. This is a unique project that we believe Australian audiences are going to love."

BRAN NUE DAE has already received the Audience Award at the Melbourne International Film Festival and has been selected by the Toronto Film Festival where it will screen as part of the Contemporary World Cinema program.
Filmed in the desert-scapes of Western Australias Broome, this exuberant musical road movie is studded with stars of stage and screen including Jessica Mauboy (platinum album artist), Ernie Dingo, Magda Szubanski, (AFI winner) Missy Higgins (multi-platinum album artist) Dan Sultan, Geoffrey
Rush (Academy Award Winner) and introducing Rocky McKenzie.

BRAN NUE DAE is a road movie, coming of age, comedy musical which celebrates the adventure of finding home. BRAN NUE DAE is directed by Rachel Perkins (One Night the Moon, Radiance), produced by Robyn Kershaw (Looking for Alibrandi) and Graeme Isaac (In My Father's Country), with cinematography by Andrew Lesnie, (The Lord of the Rings, King Kong), and a screenplay by Reg Cribb, Rachel Perkins and Jimmy Chi.
